Pumpkins need rich soil and adequate moisture to fill out. Approximately 7 seeds/gram.
- Sow 4-5 seeds 2 cm [1″] deep in hills 2 m [6′] apart.
- Thin to the two or three strongest plants.
Connecticut Field – 115 days. Large smooth orange-yellow grows 20-25 cm [8-10″] in diameter. Used extensively for canning. Excellent for pies and stock fees and also used for jack O’ lanterns. Grown large in corn fields.Approximate seeds per gram -3 to 5. Seeding rate 30 grams per 100′ row or 1.8kg per acre.
